April 1892 offiziell eröffnet. In der Mitte des Sees wurde eine Insel angelegt, auf die ein aus der Schweiz geliefertes Chalet gestellt wurde, das Schweizer Haus. Zum hundertjährigen Jubiläum wurde der unter Denkmalschutz stehende Garten zu einem 56 Hektar großen Biotopwildpark umgewandelt.
