Burgruine Treuenstein

Jahrhundert erbaut. Sie erhebt sich am Nordostrand der Stadt Bozen, im Stadtteil Gries, unmittelbar am Fagenbach bzw. an der Landesstraße nach Jenesien. Komplett erhalten ist nur noch der sehr schlanke, hohe Rundturm, der sogenannte Gescheibte Turm. Der Rundturm mit nur etwa drei Meter Innendurchmesser wird von Schwalbenschwanzzinnen gekrönt und war nicht langfristig bewohnbar. Der rundbogige Hocheinstieg befindet sich in etwa acht Metern Höhe. Ansonsten sind nur die restaurierte Burgkapelle und Reste der ehemaligen Ringmauer erhalten. Erbaut wurde die Burg durch die Herren von Treuenstein, die urkundlich 1231 erstmals erwähnt werden. 1565 wurde die Burg Cyriak von Troyer-Gießbach als Lehen überlassen.
