Die aktuelle Einwohnerzahl beläuft sich auf 3562 (Stand: Dezember 2007 laut Statistik Austria). Zu Gars am Kamp gehören folgende Katastralgemeinden: Buchberg, das unbewohnte Burgholz, Etzmannsdorf, Kamegg, Kotzendorf, Loibersdorf, Maiersch, Nonndorf, Tautendorf, Thunau am Kamp, Wanzenau, Wolfshof und Zitternberg.
