Bangis) ist eine politische Gemeinde des Bezirks Entremont des Kantons Wallis in der Schweiz. Bekannt ist sie durch das Skigebiet Verbier. Bagnes ist mit 282,2 km nach Davos flächenmässig die zweitgrösste Gemeinde der Schweiz und somit genau so gross wie der Kanton Genf, grösser als die Kantone Nidwalden, Zug, beide Appenzell und Basel-Stadt. Sie besteht aus zahlreichen Dörfern und Weilern. Ein eigentliches Dorfzentrum gibt es nicht, die Gemeindeverwaltung befindet sich in Le Chble. Nur 1,9 ,% der Gemeinde sind Siedlungsfläche, der grösste Teil ist Berggebiet. Der Staudamm Lac de Mauvoisin liegt auf dem Gemeindegebiet. Die Gemeinde liegt an der Grenze zu Italien und besteht aus den Ortsteilen Val de Bagnes, Bruson, Champsec, Cotterg, Fionnay, Le Chable, Les Morgnes, Lourtier, Medires, Mauvoisin, Montagnier, Prarreyer, Sarreyer, Verbier, Versegres und Villette.
