Dürkheimer Fass
Sight / Miscellaneous
The largest wine barrel in the world, with a capacity of 1.7 million liters, was built in 1934 by the master cooper Fritz Keller from Bad Dürkheim. The interior of the Dürkheimer barrel corresponds to the outer, original shape. On the ground floor, for example, there are artistically hand-carved oak barrel bases on the walls, which tell of how the wine is made. They are also attractive points of view from the accessible gallery. The barrel includes a popular excursion restaurant
