Linderhof Castle is a castle of the Bavarian King Ludwig II and is located in the Upper Bavarian municipality of Ettal. It was built in several construction phases from 1870 to 1886 in the neo-Rococo style. The castle is the smallest of Ludwig II´s three castles and is also considered his favorite castle. It was built in place of the so-called King´s House of his father Max II. The castle and park are one of the most diverse and artistic ensembles of the 19th century. Linderhof Palace follows the type of pleasure palace that was popular in the 18th century.
11.02.2013: The castle has large parking area at the end of a little bridge and a parking area for RVs.
