In the middle of the country near Apeldoorn is the more than 300 year old castle Het Loo. This former royal palace has been open to visitors since 1984 after renovation. In the sumptuously furnished rooms you get an impression of how the Orangers lived in this castle for three hundred years. Highlights are: * the reconstructed gardens with their fountains * the beautiful location in a charming natural setting * palace museum with 2 pavilions * orangery (today the palace office) * former stables now show special exhibitions * Restaurant De Balzaal * fountain of the king´s fountain The Castle and Gardens are open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm. Closed on Mondays, excluding public holidays. Closed on January 1st. The Museum of the Chancellery of the Dutch Orders in the east wing of the palace is open from 13 June. 00 open. A full visit takes about 3 hours. The admission tickets also entitle you to access the palace gardens. Admission prices 2011 (per person) Adults €12.50 Children and young people (6 -17 years) €4.00 Free entry Children up to 5 years Persons accompanying disabled people. Photography and filming are not permitted in the castle rooms. Dogs are not allowed, with the exception of guide dogs and service dogs.
