Rothenburg ob der Tauber is probably the most famous German medieval town. On average, well over 1.5 million tourists from all over the world visit it every year. With a lot of effort, the originality of the historic city center and the accessible city fortifications with hundreds of half-timbered houses are preserved, which ultimately ensures the constant flow of income from tourism. The old town of Rothenburg made it to 5th place in the top list of sights in Germany in 2020. The crime museum in Rothenburg made it to 16th place and the Reiterlesmarkt to 32nd place
