The Wadden Sea of the North Sea from Den Helder in the Netherlands to Skallingen in Denmark is around 9000 km² in size and 450 km long, making it the largest Wadden Sea in the world. Watts are the bottom of the North Sea on which the water almost completely disappears at low tide (low water) The constant alternation of water (high tide) and land (low tide) characterizes the Wadden Sea and creates a unique landscape.
The Wadden Sea offers many birds and fish a place to rest and a source of food.
This route 1 goes through the German Wadden Sea from the Netherlands to Hamburg, part 2 then goes from Hamburg to Denmark.
