The baroque palace, the Würzburg Residence is located on the edge of downtown Würzburg. It was built between 1720 and 1744, the interior decoration was completed in 1781. As ´the most uniform and most extraordinary of all baroque palaces´ it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, a ´synthesis of European baroque´.
