Felsen von Bayard
Sight / Landscape
In order to have a road for his troops on the right bank of the Meuse, Louis XIV had his soldiers blow up the 40 m high rock in 1661.
According to legend, Emperor Charlemagne only managed to escape from his pursuers because his horse Bayard split the rock with one hoof.
