Castillo San Sebastian

The Castillo San Sebastian is a fortress in Cadiz, Spain, located on a small rocky island in the Bay of Caleta. The fortress was built in 1706 and today serves as a popular tourist attraction in Andalusia. The castle is surrounded by the sea and only connected to the city by a long promenade. It was declared a Spanish cultural asset in 1985 and today hosts exhibitions and concerts. The 41 meter high lighthouse on the fortress is the second lighthouse in Spain to be lit by electricity. The Castillo San Sebastian is also known as the filming location for the James Bond film “Die Another Day”. The fortress is an impressive historical structure and a popular destination for visitors to Cadiz.
