Dorf Flake am Walchensee
Sight / building
The village of Flake is located directly on Lake Walchensee in the municipality of Kochel am See. It was built for the filming of the film !Wickie and the Strong Men! by Michael Bully Herbig in the summer of 2008. The community of Kochel a. See preserved part of the scenery and rebuilt it in Walchensee. The village consists of five huts and a lookout tower from the film, as well as two distinctive ceremonial poles. There are also eleven information boards about the Viking Age. There are weekly adventure tours in Flake during the summer months, and the spectacular Viking market takes place on the last weekend of the Bavarian summer holidays.
2008 Rat Pack Filmproduktion filmed the Bully Herbig movie %u201EWickie and the strong men" on Lake Walchensee in the bay %u201EStiller Winkel" in co-production with Herbx Film and Constantin Film. The Viking village of Flake was built here within 6 weeks with 12 buildings, a jetty, a village tower and an original Viking dragon boat. After filming ended, the backdrop construction was passed on to the community of Kochel am See and the Bavaria Film Tour.
06.07.2017: PoiBesuc 06/2017 | Due to cost-intensive film recordings in Norway for the production of the American film production The Wikings, filming has already been relocated to the Walchensee in 1959, and the Viking Village was recreated.. After the shooting the huts were left to themselves.. Only 49 years later they were once again film clips for the series Wickie and the strong men.. A spectacular, free-of-charge film tour especially for children who know the series.
