Frauengasse

Frauengasse (Polish: ul. Mariacka) is a historic street in the Old Town of Gdansk, Poland. It is located near the famous St. Mary´s Church and stretches from the Long Market to the Motława River. The street is known for its narrow and richly decorated town houses as well as the annexes, raised terraces in front of the house entrances, which are an example of the former Gdańsk street development .
In 1945 the Frauengasse was completely destroyed and rebuilt in the 1950s and 1960s
. Today, Frauengasse is a popular tourist spot and a symbol of Gdańsk´s rich history and cultural heritage. The cobbled street is lined with historic buildings and is a fascinating example of the city´s architectural and cultural wealth
