Schloss Steyregg
Castle / Castle
Steyregg Castle is a private castle complex in Upper Austria and is located above the center of the town of Steyregg in the Mühlviertel. The castle was built under the Ottokars in the 11th or 12th century and later expanded into a castle under the Jörgers at the end of the 16th century.
The castle is surrounded by beautiful gardens, including the festive paradise garden, the enchanting terraced garden and the elegant arcade garden with views of the Alps. It offers space for various celebrations and events. The technical equipment, mostly handicapped-accessible adaptations and a large parking lot make the castle an attractive event location. The short distance to the state capital also makes it attractive for supporting and evening programs.
The castle is now the seat of the Salm-Reifferscheidt family and can be rented for events. It is an event castle with a knight´s hall for up to 500 people. After a complete revitalization, the building, which is over a thousand years old, is a synergy between tradition and zeitgeist.
