Schloss Ottensheim
Castle / Castle
In 1148 Burg was first mentioned with the owners Ulrich and Cholo von Wilhering. In 1220 it became the property of the sovereign and was pledged to the lords of Walsee from 1331 to 1461. 1524 Niklas Rabenhaupt gets Ottesheim Castle as a fief and becomes the owner in 1527. The land above the Enns is pledged to the Bavarian Elector Maximilian by Emperor Ferdinand II. He then gave away the castle to the Jesuits. 1773, the Jesuit order is dissolved and the castle becomes property of the imperial court chamber. The castle is now privately owned.
