Pomatt) ist eine Gemeinde mit 443 Einwohnern (Stand am 31. ,Mai 2006) in der italienischen Provinz Verbano-Cusio-Ossola (VB), Region Piemont. Formazza umfasst das Val Formazza (dt. Pomatt), den obersten Abschnitt des vom Fluss Toce (wdt. Riis) gebildeten Tales. ber den Griespass (Grenzübergang zur Schweiz) besteht eine Verbindung zum Nufenenpass, von wo aus man ins Goms im Kanton Wallis oder ins Val Bedretto im Kanton Tessin gelangen kann. Früher war das Tal ein wichtiger Verkehrsweg, führte doch vom Wallis ein Saumweg über den Griespass in die Lombardei. Die Gemeinde umfasst neun ganzjährig bewohnte Weiler: Foppiano (wdt. Unnrum Schtaldä), Fondovalle (wdt. Schtafulwald), Chiesa (In där Mattu), San Michele (wdt. Tuffald), Valdo (wdt. Wald), Ponte (wdt. Zum Schtäg), Brendo (wdt. Brendu), Grovella (wdt. Gurfälu) und Canza (wdt. Früduwald).
