The Park of Wolves
The Lobo Park, located in the heart of Andalusia, was founded by the Germans Daniel Weigend and Alexandra Stieber in 2002 as a private zoological establishment. Open to the public since November 2004, our goal has always been to create a wolf park that is unique in the world. For this reason, great attention was paid to ensuring that our wolves, as well as all other animals in the park, can live in nature that is as untouched as possible. The brief was to show these fascinating animals all the respect they deserve. It was therefore extremely important to provide our animals with the largest possible enclosures, in which they feel almost free and can enjoy their natural pack life without human influence or even domestication. Over 100,000m² of enclosure space is available to the animals for hunting, play and social life. On guided tours through the park (Spanish and English) you will learn a lot of interesting things about the life and behavior of these wonderful animals. From spacious observation platforms you can get very close to the wolves and watch them play, hunt and prey. Almost all the wolves you see at Lobo Park were bottle raised and socialized by us. This was necessary to take away the wolves´ innate shyness of humans and thus ensure stress-free observation by visitors. Because our wolves are used to humans, they are unimpressed by visitors and offer excellent opportunities for studying their social behavior. Our wolves are socialized but not domesticated - so they are not trained circus animals! We do not interfere in any way with the social development of the packs, which is why natural behavior can be observed in our enclosures. The enclosures in which our wolves live are very spacious and fit perfectly into the existing topography. The animals find plenty of space here to play, hunt and relax. Sunny spots alternate with shady spots under the numerous holm oaks. Each enclosure also has a natural pool with water cascades in which our wolves like to take a refreshing dip. - You can get really jealous. A circular route takes you to the individual enclosures, which you can enjoy an excellent view of from the large viewing platforms. Our animals all come from different European animal parks and were all born there.
