Jägala juga Wasserfall
Sight / waterfall
Jägala Waterfall is a waterfall on the lower reaches of the Jägala River, about 4 kilometers from the river´s confluence with the Gulf of Finland. The waterfall is almost 8 meters high and over 50 meters wide. It is the widest natural waterfall in Estonia. The waterfall is also unusual in winter, when the mass of water, frozen in the cold, turns into a glittering wall of ice with large icicles. A tunnel, surrounded by ice on both sides, can form between the ice hanging from the edge of the waterfall and the wall of the waterfall. Interesting to know: - The lower course of the Jägala River from the waterfall to the mouth is one of the most valuable in Estonia from a fishing point of view - there are large trout and salmon stocks here.
