Fall Castle was built in 1827 by the German-Baltic nobleman Alexander von Benckendorf, a confidante and advisor to the Russian Tsar Nicholas I. It got its name from the waterfall in the park by the castle. The water of the river Keila sloshes over a step several meters wide and around 2 meters high.
