Selce
Sight / Town
Selce is a popular resort town in the Kvarner Bay right on the Croatian Adriatic coast.
The town grew up on the site of the Roman post Ad turres and developed as a port with storage rooms for wine and salt and as a customs post. In 1886 the Church of St. Catherine was built, which has late historical features.
Selce looks back on a hundred-year tradition in tourism. The first seaside resort was opened as early as 1894, which means that this year marks the beginning of tourism in Selce.
Because of the excellent sea water quality, the beaches in Selce are awarded the international blue flag every year. (Excerpts from WIKIPEDIA)
