The Heiligenkreuz Abbey is a Cistercian abbey that was founded in 1133 and is the only one in the world that has existed without interruption since its foundation. The monastery is the largest cultural and spiritual attraction in the Vienna Woods and is visited by around 120,000 tourists every year.
