Ateneul Roman
Sight / building
Built between 1885 and 1888 according to plans by the architect Albert Galleron, the building was intended as the seat of the Literary Society (Ateneul Roman), founded in 1863. Due to financing problems, it was redesigned and equipped with a concert hall. Today the house houses the George Enescu State Philharmonic.
