Römische Villa
Sight / excavation
At the beginning of the 2nd century AD, a comfortable manor house was probably built in Bollendorf by a farming family, which was inhabited until the 4th century. Then it fell victim to a fire. The remains of the building were already excavated in 1907/08. At the end of the last century, the ancient foundation walls received a protective structure from the Eifel Association and the remains of the wall were renovated. Today, protected from the weather, visitors can study the floor plan of the building using the remaining remains of the wall. Parts of the heated floor have been reconstructed and clearly show the quality of life of the Romans 2000 years ago.
