The mighty peaks of the Karawanken that can be seen in the background round off the enchanting landscape around the idyllic lake. This impressive panorama can be viewed particularly well from the nearby Pyramidenkogel observation tower in Keutschach. At an altitude of 851 meters you can climb the 54-metre-high lookout tower and then have an overview of almost all of Carinthia and its dreamlike lake landscape.
Another big attraction is undoubtedly the 60-kilometer-long 5-lake tour, which starts in Klagenfurt along the northern shore of Lake Wörthersee via the Keutschachtal and past Lake Baßgeigensee back to Klagenfurt. The condition of the route leaves nothing to be desired on continuously asphalted roads. Particularly motivated cyclists can also work hard up to the Pyramidenkogel, which the route also passes, and enjoy the great view there. In winter, the Baßgeigensee allows ice skating or curling on the frozen ice sheet.
