Pavilhao des Galectas

The Pavilhão des Galectas is an architectural building in Lisbon, Portugal. It was designed by the renowned Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza Vieira. The building consists of two main volumes separated by a !structural joint!. One of the volumes is a public square covered by a thin concrete canopy reinforced by stainless steel beams.
In May 2015, the Pavilhão des Galectas was finally handed over to the University of Lisbon, which is responsible for its maintenance. The university plans to use the building for education, scientific research, knowledge transfer and transition to society. It will house an auditorium for 600 people, exhibition rooms, offices, meeting rooms and a restaurant.
It is a monument of public interest and part of the heritage of the University of Lisbon.
