The Musée des Beaux-Arts in Nantes is an art museum in Nantes, France. It was founded in 1801 with the purchase of the Cacault collection and has been housed in the Palais des Beaux-Arts since 1900. The collection includes over 10,000 works from the 13th to the 21st century and provides an overview of European art history. The museum is one of the largest museums in the region and houses important works by artists such as Delacroix, Ingres and Courbet.
The Musée des Beaux-Arts is located in the heart of the city between the cathedral, the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany and the Jardin des Plantes. The building itself is a historical monument and features an impressive glass roof structure over the courtyard. It is a place of encounter, contemplation and cultural enrichment.
The museum is open every day, except Tuesdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The entrance fee for adults is currently 3.50 euros.
