Lehár Museum
Museum / Art
The Lehár Museum in Bad Ischl, Austria, is located in the Lehr Villa, which was once the summer residence of the composer Franz Lehár. Lehár spent most of his summers in this villa and created many of his masterpieces here, including The Merry Widow, The Count of Luxembourg and The Land of Smiles.
The villa has been left largely as Lehár furnished and lived in it, and houses a unique art collection, including the composer´s valuable paintings, furniture and memorabilia. Lehár bequeathed the villa to the municipality of Bad Ischl with the condition that it be opened to the public as a museum.
23.02.2013: The interior of the house is most of the same.
