Pfarrkirche
Church / church
Trunseo Abbey was built here as early as 632. The Benedictine nuns came to Traunkirchen around 1020. A fire destroyed the monastery in 1327, but it was then rebuilt. Around 1622 the Jesuits from Passau took over the monastery. After a fire in 1632, today´s baroque church was built. Since the monastery was dissolved in 1773, the monastery church became a parish church. The following are worth seeing: the high altar, dedicated to the coronation of Mary, by Franz Preisl from 1754| the right side altar, dedicated to St. Ignatius consecrated| the left side altar, to St. Dedicated to John of Nepomuk| the fisherman´s pulpit, created in 1753 by an unknown artist, shows the apostles James and John with a rich catch of fish.
