Schloss Gobelsburg

Gobelsburg Castle is a historic winery in the cadastral municipality of Gobelsburg in the municipality of Langenlois in the Krems-Land district in Lower Austria. The castle with a Renaissance core was built by Joseph Munggenast and has been owned by Zwettl Abbey since 1996 and is used as a winery.
The Schloss Gobelsburg winery has existed since 1171 and is one of the oldest wineries in Austria. Since 1996 it has been managed by Eva and Michael Moosbrugger, who have successfully integrated the winery´s long traditions into modern times.
The winery is known for its high-quality wines, particularly Riesling and Grüner Veltliner, which are grown in the vineyards surrounding the castle. The wines from Gobelsburg Castle are among the best in Austria and are characterized by fair prices.
