Pevensey Castle
Castle / Ruins
Paid car park on Church Road. open 10am-6pm. Within the old 4th century Roman fortifications, William the Conqueror continued to build fortifications in the eastern part from 1066 onwards as the castle. The visit is particularly worthwhile for owners of the English Heritage Visitos Pass. Not particularly impressive, but nice to look at, some exhibitions and a nice view of the land and sea. Small gift shop with the usual souvenirs. After heavy rainfall, the basement floors (´dungeons´) are not accessible due to flooding.
