Sie wurde 1892 bis 1894 von Alfred Friedrich Bluntschli im Neo-Renaissancestil erbaut, ist eines der Wahrzeichen der Enge und auch von der Promenade des Zürichsees aus sichtbar. Wegen ihrer Lage und ihres pompösen Stils wird sie scherzhaft mit der Basilique du Sacr-Cur in Paris verglichen. Die Kirche liegt auf einer Anhöhe, die repräsentative Eingangsfront der Stadt und dem See zugewandt. Die Treppenanlage, die zur Kirche hinaufführt, wird gerahmt durch die 1925 von Arnold Hünerwadel geschaffenen Statuen einer klugen und einer törichten Jungfrau. Im Turm hängen fünf Glocken aus der Glockengiesserei Jakob Keller (Zürich) in der Schlagtonfolge b0d1f1g1b1. Sie hängen im Stahlstuhl an verkröpften Stahljochen. Die Orgel wurde von Th. Kuhn (Männedorf) erbaut und 1951 gemäss der Disposition von Organist E. Vollenwyder erneuert. Sie umfasst 56 Register. Weitgehend verschwunden sind die einst üppigen Schnitzereien des Gehäuses. Der Taufstein aus Pavonazzo-Marmor steht in der Mittelachse auf einem um zwei Stufen erhöhten Podium vor der Kanzelwand. Er hat die Gestalt eines Pokales oder Brunnens, ist jedoch flach wie ein Tisch. Um die Schale läuft in goldenen Kapitalen die Umschrift: Lasset die Kindlein zu mir kommen. Mit einem hölzernen Umbau kann der Taufstein zum Abendmahlstisch erweitert werden. Die Kirche bietet Platz für rund 1200 Gläubige. Kirche von Südwesten
