In the 13th century The castle complex built by Guillaume I of Villehardouin is one of the most famous sights in the Peloponnese and is located in front of the Taygetos mountain range. The entire complex is still well preserved. Apart from the buildings, you can also admire the wall and ceiling paintings daily from 8.00 am - 7.00 pm, November - April daily 8.30 am - 3.00 pm Admission: 5 Euro
In 1989, Mystras was included in the list of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. The despotīs palace is currently (2009) being extensively restored.
